Hon. Pravind Jugnauth, the Prime Minister wants an effective working relationship between civil servants and different stakeholders. To empower more our citizen, he decided that a series of Task forces chaired by all the different Private Parliamentary Secretaries (PPS) be held on a monthly basis. Since the 18th July, 2018, the Citizen Support Unit (CSU) is now taking its mission to the next level in the process of being more citizens centered. The Task Force is now going regional to different regions on a weekly basis. The first one was held at the Municipality of Vacoas/Phoenix on Saturday 18th of August, 2018.

The PPS Deepak Benidin together with Farad Dowlut the mayor of Vacoas/ Phoenix elaborated on the different projects which have been completed in the region. Many citizens who were present had the opportunity to interact with the panel of guests also comprising of the Advisor of CSU-PMO Mrs Diana Rengasamy, Suraj Ramgolam the program Manager and Said Hassenally, Senior Regional Development Officer.

It is to be noted that all the task forces monitored by the PPS ensured that all complaints received on the Citizen Support Portal (CSP) are attended in a timely and efficient manner. A report is sent on a quarterly basis to the Cabinet. The Prime Minister wants a close monitoring with the Ministers.

Since the CSP is not only a place where complaints are filed, many citizens choose to put their suggestions on the portal too. As a result during the close monitoring process their ideas are taken into consideration when it comes to creating policies and measures.

The exercise of having a monthly Task Force is turning out to be very efficient because civil servants and other officers are now more responsive and accountable on each ticket created and hence solutions are in most cases, being found.
